from in this crazy period we are living through. And we're going to explore how Trump is using

tariffs and the related issue with Kirstama having been in Brussels, whether a reset, to use that

awful word of Brexit is feasible and what form it might take. The podcast will last four hours.

No, it won't. It won't. But there's a lot we could discuss. So let's begin with

Trump and tariffs. First of all, he declared he was slapping tariffs on Mexico and Canada.

Then he announced a pause following a negotiation with them over security borders and so on,

which raises a big question.

Is he, and of course he slapped tariffs on China, who immediately responded.

So, Miranda, is he serious about tariffs as a mechanism to change the American economy, basically, or does he see it as ammunition to get

other things from other countries? Probably both. So definitely in the standoff, which didn't

last very long, with Canada and Mexico, it was clear that this was supposed to force them to make concessions

pronto, which they did. But the tariffs are, of course, not off the table. That's the crucial point.

It's just a pause. And, you know, looking at some of the reaction from Canada, for example,

are you wonder whether the Canadians are being a bit cocky and don't realize that the danger

is not past because there was lots of, there was lots of, ooh, look, Trudeau's very

cleverly just given him stuff we were going to do anyway, both on borders and the drugs,
