Hi everybody. This is Radio Free Mormon broadcasting behind enemy lines. On today's episode, I'm going to be talking about a talk. This talk was given by Elder Ahmad S. Corbett. He's a general authority 70. But this talk was not given in general conference. It was not given in a church setting. It was given at the Fair

Conference, the Fair Mormon Conference, that apologetic organization that is receiving the

benediction and blessing of the LDS Church writ large by sending a General Authority 70,

Elder Corbett, C-O-R-B-I-T-T, to speak at their conference, which was held just a few weeks ago.

Now, only in the last couple of days was this talk released by Fair Mormon.

So I'm going to be playing a number of clips from this talk and commenting on them for you.

I want to do this sort of in the form of an open letter to Elder Corbett because his talk is

titled, Prophets of the Past, Faithfulness in the Present. And basically his theme is why it is that

you should trust the modern LDS prophets, in spite of the fact that their counterparts, the LDS

in the past, have cocked things up so spectacularly.

It doesn't really make any difference how badly they have made a mess of things.

In the past, you can still trust the current prophets and apostles.

That seems to be Elder Corbett's message.

Now, I want to play a number of clips, as I said, and I want to as

respectfully as possible, demonstrate or explain to Elder Corbett why I do not find any of his

arguments in this regard persuasive. Now, some of you have asked me from time to time,

Radio Free Mormon, are you ever going to run out of things to talk about when it comes to

Mormonism? And the answer is probably not, because let me give you a little behind-the-scenes peak of what happened. When I was preparing for this episode, first off, this was not even on my radar. I had it winnowed down to two subjects, in other words, one of two subjects I would do in the next episode, this episode. One of them had to do with a study I did, which has to do with

Book of Mormon Studies in which I think maybe... two subjects I would do in the next episode, this episode. One of them had to do with a study I did,

which has to do with Book of Mormon Studies in which I think may be a substantial contribution,

or at least a contribution, maybe not substantial, to the field of Book of Mormon Studies.
