They signed him to a funky contract because they didn't know if he was going to be a starter or a reliever.

And he had bonuses and opt-outs, all this for whatever levers were pulled.

Turns out they pulled the year-hour postseason World Series closer lever.

And he kind of liked that role.

So they exercised their one- option two point five million dollars and he's got a bunch of incentives for innings pitch and games and all

that stuff i like luke weaver jake do you like him love luke weaver um i mean he it was kind of cool to see him go on that national stage because there's always

that second of like, whoa, so we're, you know, the regular season's fun and all.

And then October hits and you're like, okay, here comes Luke Weaver in every biggest

situation.

And he showed out for the most part.

So really a magical year is fun seeing, you know, our Taylor Jackson who works here,

runs our social media.

She previously worked for the Arizona Diamondbacks and remembered Luke Weaver,

the quirky starting pitcher that was really struggling.
