I think of it this way, like in those first 100 days, it's like you're this big canvas

and everything's being stripped off it with your sobriety, everything's coming off it until

it's completely blank. So in that first 100 days, you're sitting with this

blank canvas, which is you. Yeah, with a paintbrush going. And it's boring. And you don't know

what to put on that canvas because everything's come off it. Your whole old life and all your

drinking habits have come off it. But then it takes several years to build on that canvas and start

creating a new picture, which is your new life.

But whilst that canvas is blank, you can feel lost and lonely and sad and bored.
