The uncertainty of 2027 put you in a weird predicament unlike a past years,

where you're not truly getting two years, at least that you know of.

Two controllable years because of the uncertainty of the future.

There likely will not be a winner meeting.

You're going to have a shutdown period where you're not even able to contact your own players.

Hopefully there's no labor stoppage, but we can't guarantee that. And because of that, you can't let this guy walk or become a free agent without talking to you first.

So because it's a race against the clock, I do feel like 2026, the calendar of 2026,

is kind of in your favor to make that presentation.

I was talking to somebody today who does national baseball games and thoroughly believes

that the McGonigal extension in Detroit, the Connor Griffin extension, maybe even some of the

Cubs extensions, and thoroughly informed by this potential

work stoppage and that a Murakama extension absolutely would be hot, possibly be informed,
