The Christmas of the recruiting season, and Notre Dame will ink up to 25 or so recruits on Wednesday,

but probably not the biggest signing of the last week.

Brian Kelly, Pete, I thought you wrote an excellent column,

The Crossing Lines column on Brian Kelly's contract extension in Notre Dame.

And just what it means for the football program,

which I think you hit on a ton of good points.

I think it's really significant.

It's the continuity that they've been striving for for 20 years.

Yeah.

I mean, how often do you look at Notre Dame football and be like,

yeah, everything's going really well?

Almost never.

I mean, so we put the Fiesta Bowl behind us, is that what you're saying?

So rarely has Notre Dame had a coach that it really wanted and that coach really wanted to be here?

I mean, that's a weird dynamic, unique. And you look across college football at large, how many programs have great stability?

Five or six?

I mean, not, and I mean, stability, but not stale at the same time.

I mean, you run into a lot of programs where Coach Ben there eight, nine years, and people

like, oh, God, get this guy out of here.
