I had a friend text me the other day, I don't know where, it's like, yo, I just want to let you know, I'm proud of you, bro.

You doing two radio shows a day, podcast is popping, comedy shows a lit, I've never seen you do the same joke twice.

You working out here, man, you really working and I'm proud of you.

I just want you to know you might do it and I love you, and I don't know, with most of you, say back to your friends when you get a random message like that out of nowhere,

on a Tuesday afternoon, but you know what I said, and you drunk, and you wrote back Tuesday afternoon, bro, well, would I be drunk?

And I said, that's what I was thinking, and he's like, no, I'm not drunk, I just wanted to take time out of my day to tell my friend how proud I am of what he's accomplished.

And then I felt like an asshole, but do you have friends or family in your life, that if they were to ever compliment you in this manner, your first thought would be, are you drunk?

That was my genuine first thought, I wasn't trying to be funny, I literally said to myself, oh, he's wasted.

He is lit. It was Friday, Saturday or Sunday, even if he told me he wasn't drunk, I wouldn't believe them.

But on the Tuesday afternoon, I had to think to myself, there's no way you're drunk.

Are you actually proud of me? That's sad.

Is it just me? Do we all have friends?

Who you know they love you, but they don't necessarily go out there way to tell you.

So the moment they do, who like, he's finished. Maybe it's just me. I've had a lot of friendships like that. In fact, I was in a whole relationship.

Built off of this for years. Anytime she ever looked at me and said, I love you. I knew she was drunk.

I just did. Didn't happen when she was sober.

But when she was drunk, I was her guy. I was the only one in the world for her.

But when she was sober, it's a toss up. Do we all have friends like this? Or is it just me?

Not the only person who feels this way about the people in his life. Am I the asshole or my friends and family?

The assholes? Because they don't compliment me enough to where when they finally do,

I don't think it's because they're drunk. I don't know whose fault that is.

But what I do know is an ain't mine.
