Yeah, everyone's standby. Get your notebooks out out first time for everything i um i think this still holds and i think it's still interesting the way that every death and every birth feels to the people closest to it like the first one ever you know especially especially your first

child you think no one's ever had a child before the sense of discovery is so

intense and immense and similarly with grief when you lose someone you really

really love for the first time and a lot of people listening to this program

what won't necessarily have have done that yet.

I mean, I suppose as, you know, grandparent as opposed to parent,

but when you love someone you adore

and you never really contemplated life without,

it feels like you're approaching that for the first time ever.

Don't worry.

It's a lighthearted observation, this,

despite the slightly morbid introduction to it.

I suddenly realized the same thing about old age.

See, I now work with people who are roughly half my age, some of them slightly less than

half my age.

And it never ceases to fascinate me how little they know about popular culture references that
