Aspiring to become holy is a noble pursuit, and in fact, it's a command from God.

Remember, be holy as I am holy, he said.

But sometimes attaining holiness feels like an unreachable goal. After all, we're

broken sinners living in a godless generation. So what's the formula for success? Today, on

Insight for Living, Chuck Swindall reminds us that holiness comes through a cooperative partnership.

God empowers us through salvation, but it's our responsibility

to pursue behavior that reflects His Holiness. Chuck titled his message with a question,

Can God's will make us holy?

God being holy is different from all other gods. God being holy is different from all other gods.

God being holy is separate from all other gods.

So separateness and difference is certainly involved in the word.

If you and I plan to live holy lives,

the lives must be marked by a sense of separation and difference.

To say that we are holy suggests that we emulate a morality that is likened to our God.

In other words, immorality and holiness never mix.

They don't go together.

Look at Psalm 24, verse 3.

24 verse 3. 24 verse 3, who may ascend into the hill of the Lord and who may stand in his holy place?

The answer? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood, and

has not sworn deceitfully.

This one shall receive a blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of His salvation.

Notice that there is involvement on the part of men and women.
