Can gay marriage coexist with religious freedom?

Hello again, I'm Aronaldi, and this is To the Point from Public Radio International.

The daily look at the issues Americans care about most. The U.S. Supreme Court has made same-sex marriage the law of the land, but discrimination

against gays and lesbians is still alive and well. That's the next target of the movement for equal

rights. But what about the right to religion? Supreme Court dissenters warned about a kind of

reverse discrimination against sincere believers that same-sex marriage is unacceptable.

Is there a way to prevent conflict between two basic entitlements so that two rights don't produce many wrongs?

Today's talking point, a former diplomat who says President Obama deliberately damaged U.S. relations with Israel.

legal discrimination against gays and lesbians in employment, housing, and parenthood. At the same

time, religious libertarians say they need protection against new demands created by same-sex marriage.

Today's talking point, Michael Orrin, Israel's former ambassador to the U.S., has created a firestorm with a book claiming

that President Obama has deliberately caused a rift between two longtime allies.
