A lot has been made about Tockett's relationship with Matvey Michikov, the media,

his utilization of other players, his lineup decisions, all that stuff.

But today, I want to talk about his on-ice results as a head coach, specifically

Tockech's offenses.

I got a tweet a couple of days ago from Scott Williams,

who had this suggestion for a show topic. He said, on your next show, can you research and let us know

if Tocke has ever had a team that scored in the top 16 of the league, beginning to question if his offensive system is

flawed. And it's funny because about a week ago, another listener, Hassan Goodman, DM me this.

He actually did all of this research kind of recently. He says, I recently took a deep dive into

Tockets coaching history in Arizona, Vancouver, and now with the flyers.

I know we usually focus on the players, but based on the data I've gathered, Tocket doesn't coach championship caliber hockey.

His biggest issue appears to be that his offensive philosophy isn't at a championship level.

We're going to go through all this. And he concludes, the analysis of my data is straightforward.

I listed the rankings of Tocke coach teams in goals scored and goals against for each season,

then compared those numbers to the Stanley Cup champions for those same years. The data shows that Tocke consistently fails to produce championship level offense or

defense.

And we can go through some of the numbers here.

Starting in 2017, 18 when he took the Arizona job, 31st in goals for, 21st in goals

against the Stanley Cup champs were 9th and 16th that year. 1819. He's 29th in goals against the Stanley Cup champs were ninth and 16th that year, 1819.

He's 29th in goals four, sixth in goals against, and the Stanley Cup champs were 15th and

fifth.
