Patriots are one-in-one. They get that kind of unexpected win down in Miami, at least according to me and Phil. We didn't think they were going to win the football game.

They are now second place in the AFC East, 1-0 in the division, and two weeks of Josh McDaniels running this offense.

The Patriots are over 230 yards passing in both games. Two hundred and thirty yards passing. Everyone does that. What is this? 1950?

Well, that hasn't happened around

these parts since weeks two and three of 2022. But Phil, stats are for losers. The most important

thing is the Patriots did not turtle when things got tough on Sunday. Mike Vrable said the same

thing Monday on WEEI, and he said that it's a huge step.

You know, you get into these back and force, and you have to just believe that you're going to make

enough plays in the end to win, and I felt like we did that. And that was good to see.

I think we needed to see it.

Players needed to see it and feel it and be in there and say, hey, we could have a couple bad plays. Somebody's going to make a play, which we did numerous times. So we answered back. Drake was very efficient. something that we've talked about for a long time is just putting the ball where you're supposed to put it,

where it needs to go based on their coverage in our scheme.

Phil, can the Patriots sustain with the performance they put on the field on Sunday against Miami?

They can in some ways, but not on others.

So listen, if you get that level of performance from your quarterback week to week, if that is sustainable, and I think it is.

I really do because they didn't ask him to do too much.

There were not all that many superhero caliber plays from Drake May.

Maybe asking for four incompletions every game is a little much.
