I am delighted to be joined today by Todd Bensman, who is a fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies and the author of Overrun,

how Joe Biden unleashed the greatest border crisis in U.S. history.

And we are going to be talking about one of the big topics concerning the incoming

Trump administration, and that is mass deportations and the next administration's

immigration policy. Todd, we've had it confirmed this week that Tom Homan is going to be the border czar and this seems to be

pleasing people who want the next Trump administration to be very very tough on immigration.

Do you regard it as a good sign that he's been appointed?

I do. Tom, I've known Tom for the last few years and I've spoken with him and listened to him quite a bit. And he's a cop's cop. You know, he started out as a police officer in the New York area and, you know, had a long career with Border Patrol. So he, he knows the terrain. He knows the culture.

He knows the dynamics about illegal immigration and drug trafficking, like probably nobody else, right?

He's from the field. And then he's had leadership positions. I mean, he ran, he ran the joint under the last Trump administration. And he especially,

I think, understands what has happened in the last three and a half years and why it happened.

And I think that's a good choice. There seems to be some confusion, though, about what exactly
