Summary

The war in Iran is still raging and, somehow, nobody knows what's going on. Are negotiations going to happen ahead of the ceasefire expiration? Who knows! Are gas prices on the rise? Yes, as of now, but maybe not! Can Israel be trusted to maintain current ceasefires? Not based on past actions! The reality of the Iran War is one where the entire situation changes on a dime, and no one can anticipate the next move – especially not the market. On the flip side, more and more Democrats are voting to limit offensive aid to Israel, but can they be trusted? Polling indicates that Americans despise our relationship with Israel, will OUR Democrats follow suit?

On today's show, we're going to be talking about the Iran war, of course, because what else is there to talk about? But we also got to talk about my Democrats. And one of my favorite Democrats, Corey Book Tour, was just in Michigan recently. Oh, yeah. To shame voters. Man, Democrats never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity. No, they never do. And Cory Booker was here missing the opportunity of a lifetime. And let me just roll you the clip because it is astonishing.

0:22.1

After our primaries and Hillary Clinton was our nominee. Oh. There was some people, not all people, not even most people. Some people said, well, I don't like her. Real. Me as Elle. I don't agree with everything she says. Type shit. I saw it with Kamala Harris. Oh. There were too many people that say, I don't agree with her on everything.

0:40.2

I mean, 90 out that say, I don't agree with her on everything.

0:40.1

I mean, 90 out of 100, I agree with her, but those 10, I can't do it.

0:44.2

That's generous.

0:45.2

Yeah, no, absolutely.

0:45.9

Well, you may disagree with her on 10% of her views, but you let someone get in office

0:51.7

who you disagree with on everything.

0:54.9

You let somebody get an office.

0:57.3

Who is he talking to? Who is locking up our children?

0:59.4

Who's the you he's talking about?

1:00.7

You let somebody in office who's taking away our health care.

1:04.5

You let somebody in office who's taking away workers' rights.

1:08.5

You let somebody's in office who got rid of the Department of Education. God. Cory Booker is so good at getting out there and screaming about bullshit that riles up moderates and that's it. And it's not a mistake that he's in Michigan saying, you let this guy win. We know what kind of voters he's talking about. Who else is he talking to but the mythical Dearborn voter that lost every single swing state for Kamala Harris? Like this is ridiculous. And when the 10% he's saying people disagree with with Kamala is like, I don't know, literally a genocide, I think that's a pretty big 10% arguably more than just the 10% he's minimizing it to right now. And it wasn't just that, like she capitulated to the right on immigration. She had no real economic message, at least not one that people found coherent. She said she was going to put a Republican in her cabinet. Yeah. And at that same interview, she was like, nothing would really be different between me and Joe Biden. Like, she lost that race for herself. And I get it. Like we're a democracy to some extent at the very least. And there is some space to say like, yeah, you know, voters are voting against their own interests. But Democratic politicians like Cory Booker can never accept the notion that

2:04.2

maybe the voter. there there is some space to say like, yeah, you know, voters are voting against their own interests.

2:19.1

But Democratic politicians like Cory Booker can never accept the notion that maybe the voters didn't fail you, but you failed the voters. Maybe you failed to draw contrast between your opponent. Maybe when voters who cared, maybe when voters were one issue voting about Gaza, if they were one issue voting about the Gaza, they saw two candidates that weren't going to meaningfully change anything. Obviously, things are worse now.

2:34.7

Like we said, like things are worse under Trump than they maybe would have been under Kamala Harris. However, I don't know if you can even, like, say they'd be all that much different. There would still be fuchsia going on in Gaza, just like there is right now. We just maybe would not be in war with Iran and giving Israel cover for their war in Lebanon right now.

2:52.5

Like, it's ridiculous. If you're one shoe voting, there's no other place to go. Democrats refuse to not be Republicans. Everywhere I look, when I get candidates on my ballot, it's either you vote for the Republican or you vote for the Democrat who's going to be a Republican. Who's going to appoint Republicans to their cabinet? I can't vote for Democrats. There's no option to vote for a Democrat because my Democrats are saying they're going to appoint Republicans and listen to Republicans. No matter who you vote for, you're getting a neo-conservative on poor policy, dude. It's fucking ridiculous. And it's like, with this stuff especially, perception is reality. Like, it is true that Donald Trump is worse on Gaza, has been worse for the region compared to Joe Biden. But because Kamala Harris was a part of Biden's administration and she had no critique of his Israel policy, people saw her as just an extension of a very bad thing that was already happening. So they either didn't vote completely disengaged, right? Which is the case for many dearborn voters. Or they might have switched over to Trump who was just something different compared to what everyone is experiencing right now. And like, yeah, I do think that people shouldn't get fooled by this kind of thing. But it is at some point up to the candidate to explain how they would be different. And if you can't get people to believe you, then like, that's your fault. You know what I mean? Pretty much so many of our like the electoral pitfalls of Democrats come down to the fact that they refuse to be different than Republicans or they refuse to be meaningfully different from Republicans in ways that would get voters on their side. Especially on Israel. Just be apathetic about the realities of anything. Be apathetic about immigration. Be apathetic about Israel or just like not give a shit or think that actually they want more of that thing. So they ought to vote for the Republican who the Democrat is vowing to put in their cabinet anyway. Like, I don't know. At least, like, under the first Trump administration, Democrats could signal that they would do something different on, like, immigration and a couple of other key issues. But on Israel, like, Democrats are just committed to agreeing with Republicans on this. Like, they have some critique of the procedure. They say maybe it shouldn't be so messy. maybe they don't like Netanyahu, but at a fundamental level, at a fundamental level, they're like, yeah, all of this is,

4:18.0

is, it's mostly fine. I just wish you would have asked me about it. Like, that's the critique for most of them. And then the only person who offered like a different critique other than like the actual progressives in Congress was Kamala Harris who had like something more to say, but at the same time, she's part of the reason this was set up to begin with. Exactly. So it's like, why should I trust her on anything?

4:32.6

Like, it's actually really easy for her to like something more to say, but at the same time, she's part of the reason this was set up to begin with. So it's like, why should I trust her on anything?

4:32.6

Like it's actually really easy for her to have something more to say when the DNC autopsy report that we're going to talk about later got hit it and I'm sure she saw it and she knows that this is an issue that lost her the election. Like I don't know. It wasn't the issue that lost the election, but it was a contributing issue

4:44.6

that lost the election.
