Hello, my name is Ashish Sharma and welcome to this edition of Business Daily.

Well, it's a new year and a new government here in Spain, the elections last July led to Pedro Sanchez, continuing as Prime Minister,

but they were amongst the most acrimonious.

The country is deeply divided,

based upon the hugely unpopular decision Sanchez took to form an alliance with independent Catalan parties. But what better way to heal a country than through its economy? In this program,

we'll look at the two most important sectors, tourism and the automobile industry,

and ask how important will they be to the Spanish economy and its successful growth in 2024.

Everything that is related to the big conventions and exhibitions and congresses,

actually Madrid was appointed for the five consecutive year

at the best destination in the world for this segment. A lesser-known power boost of the economy

is automobiles. We have the privilege to be the second biggest automotive industry in Europe

after Germany. We have a lot of manufacturers.

We have some advantage in terms of labour costs compared with other countries in Europe and

advantage in terms of renewal energies. We have almost all the technologies that we need for the industry

in Spain.

A tale then of two sectors that will be vital to the success of Spain's economy.
