Today, we’re going to talk about berberine. People all over social media are calling berberine a natural Ozempic, but if you do a quick Google search, you may have doubts.
There are several claims that berberine can give you diarrhea, gas, constipation, and stomachaches, and can even be fatal in large amounts. There are also claims that berberine can’t work as a substitute for Ozempic because there isn’t enough research.
Berberine is a phytochemical found in various plants that has numerous health benefits, especially for blood sugar. It has even been compared to Metformin, a popular drug used to treat type 2 diabetes.
The potential health benefits of berberine:
• Helps with insulin resistance
• Helps lower blood sugar
• Helps to activate vitamin D
• Supports longevity
• Has antiarrhythmic properties
• Helps decrease the risk of a fatty liver
•Has neuroprotective properties
• Helps make chemotherapy/radiation more efficient
• Reduces gluconeogenesis
Many health problems are related to problems with the mitochondria. Berberine increases the number of mitochondria (mitochondrial biogenesis), helps clean up damaged mitochondria, and makes mitochondria more efficient.
Berberine, in small amounts, has very few, if any, side effects! Combined with keto, intermittent fasting, and exercise, you could experience significant results when taking berberine.
