| 0:14.0 | In this video, I'm going to talk about something called a sighties. |
| 0:17.0 | A sighties is a condition where someone's belly is protruded. |
| 0:22.0 | It's usually not fat, it's mostly fluid. |
| 0:25.0 | The Latin word for sighties is bag-like. |
| 0:29.0 | Because it looks like this bag that's hanging from your abdomen. |
| 0:33.0 | Now, the appearance is usually protruded like a basketball. |
| 0:36.0 | It's usually not sagging too much. |
| 0:38.0 | It's kind of sticking out. |
| 0:40.0 | And if you tap on one side, you'll see kind of a ripple on the other side. |
| 0:43.0 | And this is because it's filled with fluid. |
| 0:45.0 | Because the liver is leaking certain fluid into a sack around the abdominal organs. |
| 0:51.0 | The most common cause of sighties is cirrhosis. |
| 0:54.0 | This is a condition where the liver has so much scar tissue. |
| 0:58.0 | It's overwhelming the liver function. |
| 1:00.0 | And now, the liver can't do its thing. |
| 1:02.0 | And so, it's leaking fluid into the gut. |
| 1:05.0 | Now, there's other causes to cirrhosis as well. |
| 1:07.0 | You can have cancer, pancreatitis, heart disease, or even TB. |
| 1:13.0 | But most people with this condition have cirrhosis. |
