Cameron Rogers was born in 1994 and was adopted by Dave and Meryl Rogers soon after.

Dave Rogers was born in Ottawa, Ontario in 1947 to Stuart and Irene Rogers.

He was an only child whose mother passed away at the age of 103.

After graduating from Brookfield High School, he went on to get degrees in political science and journalism from Carleton University.

He was hired by the Ottawa Citizen as a general assignment reporter in 1973 and worked there until he retired in 2010.

As a general assignment reporter, he wrote about everything, death in quests, election results, murder trials, drug raids, and development in old Chelsea.

Christina Spencer, an editor for the Citizen, shared a desk with Dave in the 80s and said,

quote, Dave was the kind of guy you could send to any story or event and he'd never complain about his assignment.

He'd just do it.
