The Wizards are ranked second on the league's least wanted trade destination list,

according to NBA players, trailing only the Memphis Grizzlies.

Let me say this.

It's almost a catch-22, because I think part of it is the perception of losing,

and that is undeniable over the last five decades, really.

The other part is

the arena is often dead

when you go to Wizards games.

And that's because you've been losing.

But I do think they are a sleeping giant.

When I was talking to Wes Hall the other day,

that's how he described it.

I'm stealing his term.

Because when they have had brief moments of being decent,

you can go all the way back to when Chris Weber and Juan Howard are playing together,

and that lasted way too short before they traded for Mitch Richmond,

which we all agreed with at the time.

The town was on fire, like basketball-wise, happened again with Gilbert Arenas and happened

with John Wall, right? Where that the arena, but the players that are voting nowadays,

who voted Memphis the worst location, they're just voting on their perception

of going to the arena, the team stinking, and the place being dead.
