Let's begin tonight's journey with Eli, and Eli calls their experience,

Encounter of the paranormal kind.

Eli says,

Hi, Nick, I've been listening to your show for several months now.

I have had a few encounters with paranormal entities.

In the summer of 1997, I started a new job in Lexington, North Carolina,

as a caregiver to boys, ages 7 to 15, at a center for abused and neglected children.

I would work one week on and have one week off. During my weeks on, I had my own room in the boys's building. While working there, I bought a book called

Possessed, the true story of an exorcism. I guess I was looking for a good scare, but I bit off a bit more

than I could chew. I started reading the book at night and would get so scared that I would wrap my

rosary around my left wrist and hand before I fell

asleep. One night, I was sleeping on my stomach with the rosary around my wrist and my hand. I was

awakened by something holding my feet and felt like my legs were lifted upwards and backwards towards my spine.

When I opened my eyes, my legs were slammed down on the bed hard.

I turned around onto my back, and I sat up. At that moment, I could feel the blood in my legs

pumping hard through all my veins. I then found the cross from the rosary broken and on the floor.

I couldn't sleep the rest of the night. The next morning, after the
