I'm talking to my guest, Callie Corey, whose newest project, she created an executive

produce of Nashville on ABC,

but she was last year for a film, Divine Secrets of the Yaya Sisterhood. We, of course,

this is the 21st birthday of your Oscar for Thelwyn-Louise. It is. It is. Oh, my God.

You won't in 92, right? Wow. Yes. Boy, that went fast.

Well, Nashville's going fast, too.

And as I was telling you, just before we got to start, when I saw your name on this, I knew I had to have you on.

Because what's always so much fun about what you do is the way you write people reaching for power.

And it's so interesting. We look at all the things you've done, these kinds of shifts, be it something to talk about or Yaya Sisterhood or even definitely Nashville, the way people fight for power. And I'm wondering if that's something that you thought about from the very beginning.

I don't think it's anything I do consciously, but I do think that life really is a power struggle.

And so it ends up coming into everything I do just a little bit, especially, you know,

as you said, 21, 22 years in this business, you know, you do see, like over the course of many years, you see people who are here to stay you see people who

come in with a bang and

then fade away and

and so i just always think that that's such an interesting aspect of

this business and the music business is is a parallel

and so i thought it would be a great thing to write about, especially in terms of

what's happening in both the film business and the music business right now. We're catching

it at a time where everything's shifting. We're in a period of interregnum where we don't know

what the future is going to be, but the old models
