Summary

In the second installment of our devotional series, SJR continues the conversation on what it means to go rogue. And at the end of the day, it's conviction over consensus, sis. Romans 12 sets the tone, reminding us that real change doesn't happen overnight. So if evolving feels like a lot, remember that Jesus clocked every flaw and still chose you. Matthew 5 is assigned as homework because living set apart is not for the faint of heart, especially when them old ways try to spin the block. Don't try to dip out early now! The journaling prompts at the end of this episode will help you name what obedience really costs, where resistance shows up, and what you need to break away from.

Okay, so I am back and this is episode two of us going rogue in 2026. I am your host, Sarah Dix Roberts, and you are listening or watching the Woman Evolve podcast. Last week, if you didn't hear last week's episode, I spent a lot of time talking about what and why

0:22.9

we are going rogue, what it means to go rogue and why it's necessary that we go rogue. Now, I mentioned

0:28.9

that if you looked up the definition going rogue, that you'd be like, I don't know, I don't know about it.

0:34.0

I don't know about it because at first glance, the definition can be jarring and there's

0:40.5

words like rebellion in it and it can create a little bit of confusion if you are just looking at it

0:46.8

on a surface level. But when you look at it through the context of a spiritual lens, it actually

0:51.8

makes sense that we are in this stage where we are going rogue.

0:55.7

Going rogue starts to talk about not acting as expected, moving independently, leaving a group

1:04.0

and doing something that could be considered erratic to those who don't understand it.

1:09.0

But when we look at it through the spiritual context and lens of allowing us to go rogue from this world so that we can align with who

1:17.3

Jesus is and ultimately what God wants for our life, it loses a bit of its sting.

1:22.4

If you haven't heard that episode, I highly suggest going back, I am starting this year

1:27.1

with a devotional that really

1:28.9

lays the foundation for the theme of what it means to go rogue. Anytime that you hear the scripture,

1:34.6

Romans 12, verses one through two, to me in my mind when I hear it, I hear God beckoning us to

1:40.9

go rogue through the letter that he wrote to the Romans through Paul. He's telling us to not be

1:47.4

conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. We talked about

1:54.8

Ephesians and how we once walked according to the ways of this world, the prince of the power of

2:00.3

the air, who is the spirit that is

2:02.8

in the sons of disobedience, but how ultimately when we became saved, when we believed by faith

2:08.7

that Jesus is the son of God who was sent on earth to save us from sin, from death, from

2:14.4

destruction, that we received a breath of fresh air and that breath of fresh air
