The morning text for today's sermon is Romans 8 verses 28 through 30.

We know that in everything God works for good with those who love Him, who are called according to his purpose.

For those whom he fore-knew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his son,

in order that he might be the firstborn among many

brethren and those whom he predestined he also called and those whom he called, he also justified, and those whom he justified,

he also glorified.

Romans 8 is one of the glorious chapters in the New Testament. Look at verses 35 to 36, for example.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?

Shall tribulation or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness

or peril or sword as it is written for thy sake, we are being killed all day long.

We are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.

So the backdrop of this big painting that everybody loves is just glory.

And then Paul comes along with his big red paintbrush

and he just splatters all over it.

Verse 37, no!

In all these things we are more than conquerors.

Tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, peril, sword, slaughter, are more than defeated.

They are captured, enslaved, and made into servants of the people of God to do you good all your days.

Isn't that the meaning of your beloved verse 28?
