and it is yet another tense night in Los Angeles.

Protests that erupted last Friday over federal deportation raids in the city have continued for four straight days.

The situation escalated on Sunday when the president called in the National Guard

over objections from Governor Gavin Newsom. Today, the Attorney General filed a lawsuit challenging

that action in court. But earlier Newsom posted that the administration was ordering an additional

2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles. And NBC News is now reporting that 700

Marines have been mobilized to provide support if necessary. Tonight, we're also hearing a reaction

from state and local officials about the ongoing conflict with the White House. Watch this.

We had to send the PD, our local PD, to protect our own national guard because they're being used as pawns.

Mr. President, show some decency.

I show some humanity.

More importantly, act like the commander-in-chief.

This chaos is manufactured, and it's my job as governor working with local law enforcement to clean up their mess.

I can't emphasize enough the level of fear and terror that is in Angelinos right now.

He talked about violent criminals, drug dealers. How do you go from a drug dealer to chasing

people through the parking lot of a Home Depot where there's day laborers working?

This entire situation is what leaves us believing that we're being used as a test case.
