Coming up just about an hour, Captain Mike Cofield, aviation expert, advisor to the last four presidential administrations.

He will join us to give us his insight on the disaster that unfolded around 9 p.m. last night as a passenger jet bound for Reagan National collided with a Black Hawk military helicopter, went into the Potomac.

I mean, just disaster.

Sixty-four people aboard the jet.

Three aboard the Black Hawk helicopter.

So it's been 16 years since there was a U.S. commercial crash in the United States and listening to our previous guest, it almost feels like, well, it was inevitable that something was going to happen at some point. And it's hard to comprehend. And every time they come up with like the top 10 most stressful jobs, air traffic controllers in there, it's hard to comprehend probably the incredible stress they have, looking at all those dots and just dealing with because there are so many flights.

I remember we looked it up one day and it was like in the United States, it was, I might be wrong.

It was something like 20,000 flights a day.

All right.

And this is just one airport.

Maybe it is small.

I can't remember the number, but just think of Reagan how many flights are coming in.

I take the GW Parkway home. And there's sometimes when I can literally

see four planes like in a line. They're all separated by miles, but they're just one after another,

after another, after another. And then we've talked about it. If you're in this area,

you're not unfamiliar with these helicopters buzzing by.

Right.

And sometimes, like, I'll be right on the GW Parkway, and they're no higher than a hundred feet high.

Oh, yeah, there's zooming on.

Right over top of you.

Some of them I think have the president in some of them.
