0:00.0 | All right ladies and gentlemen welcome to episode 250 of the Catcast video game podcast |
0:28.4 | time your host GP D here in Tokyo Japan and of course we've got Wombat in New York. I am making it through the day. Nice and shipwreck in Ohio. Yes, going to be in Seattle tomorrow though. You are a jet-setter but all jet-setting is done between Ohio and Seattle and Minneapolis and Detroit and wherever else my flights lay over. Right. Awesome. You're getting fired up for packs. I'm looking for |
0:58.4 | forward to it. Yeah. I'm not quite sure what to expect because guys I've only really scheduled a handful of meetings expect a lot of guys close together. Sweaty. That doesn't sound exactly like what I like but close video games there. No, I would like to go which I was going. That would be nice. But maybe one year will all go. We'll do a live Catcast. |
1:27.4 | Because I don't think they book us but we can do it on the sidewalk. We do it in front of the building. Yeah, I think that would probably be the only way they'd let us. I think they let you do pretty much anything as long as there's no fireworks or weapons. Which is why we'd have to do it outside. So welcome to the show everybody. A lot of late breaking news items that are pretty controversial and exciting. So I'm glad we have something to talk about. That's always helpful. |
1:56.4 | I saw that you experienced an earthquake and on the East Coast. You mean the mega quake? Is that what it was a mega quake? That was it was a mega quake. It was so amazing and frightening that I had to be told by someone that it happened. Right. That's yeah, it was pretty. It was a non event. I mean I was I was outside. I think when it really happened and probably in the elevator when it was still happening. |
2:25.4 | I got off the elevator and my coworker says, did you feel that? Like no. And then I could hear everyone running down the steps. Wait, they abandoned the buildings. Yeah, they evacuated the buildings. See, I didn't I didn't really read about this because I just assumed. I mean, I saw how the media overreacted to the to the effect that the, you know, the March earthquake had in Tokyo. |
2:46.4 | So I just could only assume that they were doing this times 100 for something that happened inside the US. So I didn't even bother to click through any of the stories. I just assumed it was completely nothing. |
2:57.4 | Well, you have to remember, I mean, and you were here in, you know, 2001 in 2001, you were living in New York. Yep. |
3:06.4 | And you know that if anything happens in a building in Manhattan, your first reaction is to run away. Oh, yeah, okay. |
3:15.4 | And that was literally a, I mean, everyone said, you know, hey, everyone had the same exact flashback almost. It was his mass post-traumatic stress. |
3:26.4 | Oh, okay. Well, I understand that in New York City, but I don't know about the rest of the country. Rest of the country. Yeah, the rest of the country I can't answer for. But that is 100% what happened in Manhattan because every person I spoke to said the same thing. |
3:38.4 | I was here 10 years ago. I'm not hanging around. Right. So, you know, and you know, I totally get it. And I'd rather be saved than sorry. I mean, they evacuated the building for maybe, I don't know, maybe we were outside for 10 minutes. And then we're like, okay, I'm going back to work. |
3:54.4 | And it's not like you were so thrilled that you, you know, you just wanted to keep working. Anyway, any excuse to get up and go do something that's not working. It's probably pretty welcome. |
4:02.4 | Well, I had just come back from the Konami event, which we'll talk about later. Oh, okay. |
4:07.4 | We'll get to that later later. Okay, a lot of stuff to talk about. Very nice. I got to hear what kind of food they had there. It was good, but we'll get it again later. |
4:16.4 | What else we got? Well, I know shipwreck last week. You were feeling sick. And then you said that you had some a couple days after the show went up. You said you had you learn something or there was something to share with us on this week show. |
4:29.4 | Oh, yeah. So yeah, last week when we did the show, I was not feeling well at all. Like I was running a really bad fever. So I had been like during the show, I drink two of those like, I don't know, there were 20, 24 ounce propel waters. |
4:48.4 | Okay, what's the propel water for those of us? It's not really water. It's sugar water. It's like a gatorade type of thing, but like a light version of gatorade. |
4:56.4 | Okay. So I was just trying to like beat out this fever or whatever. And then so I downed both of those while we were recording. Then immediately after we were recording. |
5:09.4 | My wife brought me some tea to drink to make my throat feel better and everything. So that's all fine and well, I went to bed. Then I got up at like 3 a.m. |
5:20.4 | I just had to like piss like nothing else. I've been drinking all day. So I get up, I go into the bathroom and I start doing my thing. I'm peeing. |
5:32.4 | So I'm standing there and like it just keeps going. Like I just keeps going and going and going. And then like all of a sudden I start to feel a little busy. |
