This is reported in Daily Beast. The quote is, is the Epstein case going to cause a problem

for confirmation hearings that Acosta has asked that and he explained, according again

to the reporting, that back in the day he had just one meeting on the Epstein case and

he cut the non-prossecution deal because he had, quote, been told to back off that Epstein

was above his pay grade and that Acosta was told that Epstein, quote, belonged to intelligence

and to leave it alone. What do you make of that? Basically, the implication is that Epstein

was essentially a spy or an intelligence asset for the United States government.
