Vistick, the electric SUV, joining the Lyric as their second EV in Europe. The Cadillac Optic,

which is the big SUV, follows soon. In Germany, the Vistick will start at 99,640

euros. That is about 114,000 US dollars equivalent. Initial markets for the model are Sweden,

Germany, France and Switzerland. Customer deliveries begin in September, and they will make right-hand

drive versions for the UK.

According to GM's president and managing director in Europe, who is Per Brugel, the Vistik redefines what a three-row SUV can be, offering first-class comfort in every seat, bold Cadillac

design, and the agility of a much smaller vehicle.

It's a compelling blend of luxury, performance and versatility.

With the Vistik, we're giving customers more choice in the EV space, because true luxury

is about having options that fit your lifestyle.

But if you're spending 100,000 euros, let's say in Germany, or anywhere in Europe, really,

would you go Cadillac or would you go for one of the German brands, which is luxurious?

Or would you go Chinese? I'd love to know. Let's go to the US next where LG and Samsung are both

teaming up with General Motors to make lithium-ion phosphate batteries for EVs.

LG plans to retool bits of its ultium Spring Hill and Ultium Warren plant.

Samsung's joined venture in Indiana with GM will also do LFP cells.

GM's decision is likely a sign of what's to come across the industry with cost pressures mounting. More automakers are turning to LFP for their volume models.
