The whole new acronym thing, drive me effing bennan. Can we call him by his wing? Shelver and Mass. On 985, The Sports Hub. Let's go. All right, some breaking news coming out this morning out of the NBA. Who better to break this down with us than Shams Sharania, who is here? Shams, what do you have for us and some major news coming out of the league? Sources tell me that Detroit Piston superstar Kate Cunningham has been diagnosed with a mild collapsed lung and he's expected to miss an extended period of time. The pitts are not quite sure exactly how long could be could it be a period of weeks., the playoffs are about a month away.

There is some optimism that he's going to be back for the playoffs,

0:45.8

but this is a situation now, an injury that he's going to be fighting,

0:49.4

rehabbing the pistons, their doctors, their medical staff.

0:52.7

They're all going to work together to get more information in the next few days as far as treatment and potential recovery

And that's where we will start today on Thursday, March the 19th from our town fair territory studios in Waltham, Maz, and Big Jim Murray alongside. Hi, guys. Good you. After that news, Mass, there is only one question to ask. You know what that question is, don't you? Yes, it is. Yes. Go ahead, Jim. Is it possible to have a collapsed long for a short period of time and then have it not collapsed? Is there any other thing that's more relevant than that? No, no, that's entirely relevant. About 30 years ahead of my time. Is it possible to have a collapse lung for a short period of time and then have it not collapsed? I mean, I don't know how you don't ask that question immediately. Definitely.

1:32.1

But, Maz, is it already all coming up Celtics?

1:38.0

Is this the start of one of those things where once again it's all coming up Celtics?

1:39.0

Yes.

1:40.5

Dare I say yes?

1:44.3

So, look, I started to feel this way a little bit last night anyway, and I'll get to that in a second. But when the, you know, one of the other chief contenders in the conference has what I would call an odd injury. I mean, don't you know how it happened? So apparently he was diving for a ball or something on the floor. Is there a clip of the play? Did he come out of the game, et cetera? So that I have not seen yet.

2:01.9

And the story I read that's, I thought it said that he was diving for a ball. And they think that that's when it happened. And I would just say, that happens all the time and guys don't collapse lungs. Have you ever heard of the injury in basketball period? No, I can't say.ly unusual, which suggests to me that maybe there was some

2:19.2

sort of pre-existing thing going on there. And then if it did happen in that sort of play,

2:25.0

that something exacerbated it or, you know, not collapsed. Yeah, exactly. Irritated it. I can't,

2:31.3

I can't necessarily give me the, you know, I'm not a doctor. So listen, I hate inside jokes.

2:35.6

That kind of constitutes an inside jokes.

2:37.4

I just feel like I got to explain it a little bit.

2:40.1

Not everyone knows what that is quickly, Mads, before you go on.

2:43.6

That really happened.

2:44.6

That was me, yours truly, in September of 2001, after Drew Bledsoe got walloped by Mo Lewis of the Jets,
