In the summer of 2019, freelance writer Joshua Rigsby was out on a weekend trip with his family.

They were driving around northern Georgia.

It's very beautiful if you've never been in the sort of southern reaches of the Appalachian Mountains,

these kind of rolling hills and very picturesque and very beautiful.

And then there's just a lot of quirky little tourist spots.

For instance, there's a place that has gourd art from all over the world, just different

kinds of gourds.

And as they were driving, Joshua's kids kept pointing out these odd billboards that were

popping up along the route.

They were advertising something called Babyland General Hospital.

The billboard has this picture of a stork holding a cabbage patch kid in its little pouch thing suspended from its beak.

Those squishy baby dolls from the 1980s.

You might remember them.

Yeah, the stork with the doll sort of dangling there, I was like, oh, that's kind of weird.

But it's not, you know, I didn't think of it as being any more weird than a Gord Museum.

You know, it's just another kind of strange thing to see.
