He called me up and said that I'm finally going to do a rock movie, a music movie.

I said, no you're not.

We'd always talked about how we hated music films because they were never correct.

And I don't know, having actors and directors who had not really had the experience that we had. So I said, no you're not. He said,

yes I am. He said, well you, we don't like rock movies and he said I know but I'm going to do it the right way

We spent a lot of time together. We rooted for each other as actors he created rock school

We came we hung out we watched the guys really kind of learn how to become a band, this

unit, and we became the sort of, the band-aids were, you know, trailing off of their unit a little bit.

But it became our life for six months,

and we really went there with each other.

meant taking actors like Billy Crudup, Jason Lee,

and others, and making sure they all but reeked

of the real deal as rock musicians.
