Summary

Republicans have the chance to move beyond last year's spending fights and start anew with a new budget they control entirely and lead with DOGE efficiency cuts. But it can't happen until this CR is passed to avoid a government "shut down" this week. Today, Stigall unpacks this politics of this and why this time even the most conservative folks must hold their noses strategically to get to a bigger goal. Ultimately the question is: Do you trust Trump? Ed Morrissey of Hot Air helps paint a broader picture. Plus, another couple of pots boiling on the stove are Russia/Ukraine and Iran/Israel. Trump is trying to bring maximum pressure on Iran to dump their nuclear program while keeping Russia from stepped up bombing of Ukraine.
