The latest big tech company that regulators say is just too hard to quit.

On the show today, Big Tech Subscription Services are once again in the crosshairs of the Federal Trade Commission.

Regulators are suing Adobe, which makes popular programs like Photoshop, saying it gives customers

the run around when they try to quit.

Then we look at how non-profits with links to ChatGPT Maker open AI are coming to be less open about their

financials and their internal policies but first US Surgeon General

Vivek Murphy is urging Congress to require a new label on social media, one that

cautions against its potential harms.

Perech Devay, senior writer at Wired magazine, explained what the suggested Surgeon General's warning might look like.

It would basically add a piece of text maybe to the top of social media platforms similar to the

ones that you already see on cigarette

packs or alcohol bottles of alcohol and it requires Congress to get

involved to you know approve doing that and requiring these companies to add

that label onto the products but this adding into a digital forum is kind of

different it is is it your sense based on what you've read that a label like this could

make a difference yeah I mean it seems to work in the sense that people do

notice them.

There was one study that showed people tended to like

hide the fact that they smoke cigarettes a little bit more

because they knew that it was bad and like, know people would perceive them differently in part because of that
