Summary

GoVols247's Ryan Callahan and Patrick Brown discuss what Tennessee needs to accomplish during its first open date of 2025 and who the best players have been for the Vols so far this seasons. In the first segment, we assessed the team's health situation and who Tennessee could get back for its next game against Arkansas. Then we discussed the areas the Vols need to improve moving forward the rest of the season. We also highlighted some young players who need to make the most of the extra practices this week to earn more playing time or be ready if they are called on -- like David Sanders Jr. and Jack Van Dorselaer were against Mississippi State. Then Patrick and Ryan each ranked Tennessee's 10 best players so far this season. The top six are pretty obvious, but the Vols have a lot of contenders because a lot of players have contributed to their 4-1 start. Where did we agree and where did we have differences? 0:44.5

Yeah, hopefully watching a lot of football.

0:46.5

That's, I mean, nothing.

0:48.9

I mean, this is a first world problem, but, you know, the biggest frustration with our job sometimes is the

0:55.8

inability to watch all the great games that everyone else gets to enjoy on Saturdays.

0:59.8

I mean, nothing explains that better than last weekend.

1:02.6

We're in Starkville riding in the press box and trying to watch during this podcast as the

end of the Oregon Penn State and Alabama, Georgia games are going on simultaneously,

1:15.5

and I got to watch none of those games.

1:17.9

So that's what I'm looking forward to this week, at least a couple good games,

1:22.5

and hopefully some others will surprise us.

1:24.5

But yeah, looking forward to seeing a lot of football this weekend and not having to
