Hello and welcome back to Sochiology 101. Today we're going to be talking about deconversion. It does not make me happy when I see people deconvert, whether they're a Calvinist, an

Armenian, a provisionist, or anything in between. Obviously, we don't want to see anyone

leaving the faith. And I know that some people think that because of what we do here at

Satriology 101, that we are going to capitalize upon Calvinists who deconvert from the Christian

faith by trying to say, well,

look, you know, obviously Calvinism causes deconversion. The truth of the matter is there are

non-Calvinists who also leave the Christian faith, who once say they believe in Jesus and now

say they don't believe in Jesus. And we've talked about the different views of apostasy and all those kinds of things. That's not really the point of this

discussion. The most recent deconversion is that of Tyler Vela. And Tyler is someone I actually

engaged with on a couple of debates. We had back and forth contentions with each other. Tyler is very

intelligent, very well-spoken, was a Calvinist now as an unbeliever. And it breaks my heart

to see that happen. And I'm saying that genuinely. I've had some

interaction with Tyler offline and in person. And so I am not trying to capitalize on that.

Say, aha, look, we prove our point here. That's not why I'm doing this. It is honestly as a heart for people and a heart

for evangelism, a heart for apologetics, that I do these kinds of things, that I really want to try

to confront any doctrine or any way of thinking that could lead people to walk away from Christ.

And that includes any false teaching that, you know, I believe is out there.

Any kind of doctrine that leads people to walk away from the faith.

And as apologist, we're oftentimes confronting various doctrines that people might see as hurdles to their faith in Christ.

And we are helping them to overcome those hurdles, overcoming obstacles, barriers, strongholds the scripture speaks of.

That is part of our work as evangelist. And as many of you know,
