Bible. And on today's edition of the word for today,

Pastor Chuck continues with by water and by blood as we pick up in 1 John chapter 5 verse 6 and now with today's

message here's pastor Chuck and Jesus said you don't know what you ask.

He said, are you able to be baptized with the baptism

wherein I am going to be baptized?

Oh yes, Lord we are.

He said, you don't know what you're saying. But he was referring to the cross as a baptism.

So when he refers here, he came not only by water but by blood, it was a reference to his water baptism and then his

crucifixion. The other field of thought of the commentators is that it is a reference to

the crucifixion itself when the soldier pierced his side and there came forth blood and water. And it is a reference

to that cleansing flow from Jesus by which our sins are cleans they've

pouring forth of the water and the spirit and the blood and so I leave the theologians to argue it.

I say that you can take either opinion and you're not going to be too far from wrong.
