Summary

What should have been a simple evening house showing quickly spiraled into one of the most unsettling experiences of my real estate career. The first couple through the door seemed harmless enough—until the man casually revealed he’d grown up there and dropped an ominous warning: “This house is haunted.” I laughed it off, but the next showing proved far more disturbing. A young couple with a newborn entered, only for the baby to grow inconsolable as they walked the rooms. Then, without warning, the kitchen light fixture came crashing down from the ceiling—bolts, wiring, and all—shattering at our feet. No one was hurt, but the tension in the air was undeniable. With their nerves frayed, they left quickly, leaving me alone in the darkening house, trying to convince myself it was just faulty wiring… even as my mind replayed that earlier warning over and over again.
