0:06.4	stories from women who are survivors and are willing to share their stories. Before we drop into
0:11.8	today's episode, I want you to hear this story from Whitney Sanders. I believe that it will bless you.
0:19.1	Hi, I'm Whitney Sanders. I'm a stage three breast cancer survivor, a single mom of two.
0:24.6	I was diagnosed in 2023 with breast cancer and after chemotherapy, radiation, and a double
0:31.9	mastectomy, I just celebrated my first year in remission.
0:36.2	For me, breast cancer taught me a lot about freedom and about surviving hard things.
0:42.3	It was during this journey that I never expected to be on, that God really showed me what it meant to surrender to his will for myself and for my life.
0:58.0	I wasn't able to work during breast cancer treatments, and so I had a lot of time to just sit still and really ask God what was his plan in all of this, What was the purpose of this pain that I was going through?
1:14.7	And it was in that moment where God said, when are you going to set aside your plans and allow me to have my way?
1:23.2	And I said, God, okay, you have your way. And in that, it was such a freedom and release that came
1:31.4	with knowing that I no longer had the burden of my plans. I didn't have to force myself to fit into
1:40.0	societal norms or what others expected me to be or do. And with that, after months and months
1:50.1	of treatments and multiple surgeries, I started to find my path and find this purpose that God
1:57.6	had for me. And it was after years of things not working out, God is showing
2:02.8	me that surrendering to him and giving him the freedom to have his way in my life. I've been
2:11.8	able to start walking in my purpose. And now I'm speaking and advocating for women in health care
2:17.3	and women who have survived other
2:19.5	hardships outside of medical hardships.
2:23.5	I just completed my first book about life after survival of hard things to help other
2:29.3	women on their journey of healing.
2:32.4	And I know that had I never faced breast cancer, had I never just allowed
