Good morning, everyone. It's Mike Carter here from Breakfast with the Beats. Also with my good friend Dave Funnel. We'll get to that in a second. I hope that your week has been a good one and filled with lots of different things to give you joy and rest. It's something we're going to talk about a little bit today on the back end of our show. But before we do that, I want to get into our normal stuff that we talk about.

We cover three or four beat articles and talk with you guys about what we're taking away from

those things.

And also recognize that we are having good coffee here on Saturday morning.

I went out and bought myself a fresh bag of coffee yesterday at the store.

I was shocked by the prices. We're not going to talk about that. We're not going to turn this into a political show. We could talk about it for hours. We're not going to do that. And made myself a nice pot of coffee. Last night went out with one of my good friends and saw Jeff Tweedy from Wilco playing a solo show at the big theater in uptown Chicago. It was great.

And I am ready to talk some baseball this morning with my good friend, Dave Fonnell.

It is a beautiful Saturday morning.

I don't know about you, but it's sunny and it's nice and warm here.

So I'm pretty happy.

I'm excited to get out there later today, but I'm very excited to talk baseball right now.

How do you take your coffee?

Black, just like my soul. Me too.

Nothing. My coffee black and bitter, just like me. My inner workings. It most closely matches my internal life. I just wouldn't wear that on a shirt, right? I know you've got your dead inside shirt.
