Kevin Cruz, who I will turn over to Wajahat for his movie phone introduction.

Professor Kevin Michael Cruz is an American historian and professor of history at Princeton University. And his latest book

is a collection of essays entitled Myth America. Historians take on the biggest legends

and lies about our past. Thank you for indulging me as always. And I was also told that

Professor Cruz, if you say his name in Danish, it's Professor

Krausa. So I don't know if I said that properly, but I just wanted to say that. I just wanted

an excuse to just yell at the microphone and wake up our audience that might have been sleeping.

Also, for those you don't follow Professor Cruz, do follow him on Twitter. He engages unlike other academics with the masses and tries as best to actually talk down

and talk with us peasants and connect the dots.

And specifically, you know, Professor Cruz, we were talking about the timing of having

you on our show, unfortunately, and fortunately, coincides with what's

happening in Florida. And for those who haven't followed, Ron DeSantis and Republicans are continuing

their attack on this mythical straw man called Wokeness. And this now has led them to cancel

this AP textbook, AP course, excuse me, on

African American studies. And they're saying that African American studies, it doesn't have value.

And when asked to explain, well, what's so troubling about it? Well, there was a section about it that talked about queer theory.

And as we know, in Florida, you can't say gay.

They tried to pass the Stop Woke Act.

They're going after librarians, teachers, corporations.
