Monday, May 26, 2025. Zillow is projecting that U.S. home prices will fall nearly 1% between April 2025 and April

2026.

As existing home sales continue to fall, will buyers have the upper hand this year? It's not just

sellers willing to put the properties on the market. You know, life events force people to sell,

and it has been such a stagnant market for three years that eventually there are factors that

require people to sell whether they want to or not. Zillow came out bearish on its projection for

their 12-month

forecast of U.S. home prices, projecting they will fall by 9 tenths of a percent this year.

While not every market is softening major real estate regions like the Sunbelt have proven

to have a weaker housing market in recent months. The National Association of Realtors recorded

that existing home sales slid half a percentage

point in April, which the NAR highlight is actually the slowest April pace since 2009. But for new
