Last Friday's jobs report blew past expectations.

That may have been good news for the labor market,

but now Wall Street sees the chances of another rate cut fading,

while inflation fears are further stoked.

I think it shook the markets, and it shook, you know, the algos certainly in the traders,

that are now have to rethink their bets on what the Fed's going to do.

The December jobs report painted a picture of a booming labor market. The economy added

256,000 jobs, and it wasn't just jobs added. Unemployment fell to a rate of 4.1%. While a strong

labor market is usually good news, it seems the market read it as bad news. The Dow Industrials, S&P 500, and NASDAQ wiped out their

gains for the year after Friday's robust jobs report on worries that strong data could put the Fed on

hold for cutting rates this year. One senior economist at Bank of America said, while a hold on

rate cuts is likely, if inflation

reignites in a meaningful way, then rate hikes might be back on the table for Fed Chair Jerome

Powell.

The favorite inflation print, the U.S. Consumer Price Index, is released on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, some of America's biggest companies from McDonald's and Walmart to Amazon and
