Amazon delivery workers are striking ahead of the holiday rush this week

as the threat of a government shutdown looms on the horizon.

You know, it's proving what I think everybody knew was it's going to be, it's a lot harder

to govern than it is to talk about governing.

And this is the first, you know, moment where the rubber is really meeting the road and

it's going to be messed.

Amazon warehouse workers are striking this week, pushing for higher wages and improved benefits and safety conditions.

A New York Teamster Union president said the strike will last as long as it takes.

But Amazon tells customers last-minute holiday orders will not be impacted.

In Washington, the Federal Reserve cut rates this week by a quarter point in line with

expectations. The question now, where will interest rates go in 2025? Fed Chair Jerome Powell

signaled that inflation data guides the decision, but is the battle to rein in inflation over?

And lawmakers and Congress are trying to fund the government after the plan backed by President

elect Trump was voted down Thursday night.

House Speaker Mike Johnson says they will regroup and come up with another solution before

the deadline at midnight tonight.

We'll start first with the Christmas time delivery worker strike at the world's largest online retailer.

I think the strike is basically about the Teamsters figuring out how much political capital they have after the election of President Trump.
