Today I've come to the trendy London offices of a tech company founded by an Armenian but headquartered in the USA.

It makes a video and picture editing app that has been downloaded more than a billion times

and has more than 150 million active users each month.

We want everybody to be creative and also have opportunity to monetize their creativity.

That's Hauvanez Avoyan, who is the founder of Pixar. It's been described as like Photoshop

for the Instagram and TikTok generation. Many people use it to spice up their social media timelines

by doing imaginative edits of pictures and videos taken on their phone.

The app has a series of templates, but also uses artificial intelligence to suggest ideas.

So I'm just using some AI tools. So we can remove backgrounds and I can just generate

the new backgrounds. You really do move fast. Your thumb's going crazy.

Businesses use it too as a kind of design department.

An easy way to create logos, gifts, snazy photos of products,

ready to wow customers on platforms like Etsy or Shopify.

And we start focusing more on solo printers.

People which are not using product for fun, but using

it for like side hustling or doing some small business, promoting their websites, selling

t-shirts online. This new generation, they think about how to make the extra money with

their creative skills. Very entrepreneurial. That entrepreneurial spirit is something of Oyan possessed himself growing up in Armenia,

but it could only really be unleashed when the country gained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991,

when he was in his 20s, a student studying artificial intelligence.
