Andre Schwemline is chief executive of Flix, the driving force behind Flix Bus and Flix train, which he tells us isn't a transport business at all.

It's a pretty unique animal. We are not a transport company because I mean we don't think we are the better operators

of bus or train services in the world.

Combining new tech with old school travel, his company has changed the way millions of people

cross countries and continents.

But he says he himself was never much of a traveler.

No, I was not traveling because, I mean, I didn't have the money.

And if I had some money left, I didn't have the time because I was studying.

And we'll be hearing why the new kid on the block has decided to hitch a ride with one of

the oldest names in the business.

but intercity bus services do have certain advantages.

They're relatively cheap for a start and they can be very convenient,

taking you from the centre of one city to the heart of another.

In 2013, a new company set up by three young friends in Munich

saw the potential in that model,

if it could be brought up to date with modern technology.

The company was Flixbus.
