0:43.5	In late 1975, a man named Mark Allen Hopkinson, born October 8, 1949, found himself in the middle of two major legal disputes that everyone would soon learn would have deadly consequences.
0:59.0	The first dispute was between Mark's family and the Reutz family.
1:03.1	When in 1974, Mark's father began doing groundwork for a Wyoming trailer court,
1:09.0	and in the process, covered a ditch carrying water to the Reuters.
1:13.5	The family, Furious, consulted an attorney named Vincent Vahar, who then filed a lawsuit against
1:19.4	Joe Hopkinson. When the judgment ended, ruling in the Royates' favor, Mark Hopkinson,
1:26.2	returned to the valley and, not only took over the development
1:29.2	of the trailer court, but did what he could to try and reverse the judgment on appeal.
1:34.9	So in April of 1976, Mark went to the family and asked if they could try and figure out a settlement
1:40.8	outside of the courts and without their lawyer.
1:51.3	The Reuters refused, and Mark warned them that, if this proceeded, he could and would construct the trailer court in a way that would be the utmost inconvenience to them if they didn't back off.
1:57.7	On May 6th of that same year, Mark visited the family one more time and at some point
2:03.1	got into a physical altercation with 55-year-old Frank Reutz. As the family members pulled Mark
