Hey guys, before we get to today's AFC North preview, wanted to hit on a piece of NFL news

that broke after we finished taping, which is that J.J McCarthy, the Vikings first round draft pick, Ricky quarterback, played so well this last weekend, pre-season, talked about that earlier this week, is going to be out for the entirety of the 2024 NFL season

getting a meniscus repair surgery.

Now so next week I am actually proving in the NFC. So I will get into the Sam-Darnold side of things

in great detail then.

But just to hit the JJ aspect, I mean,

this obviously just sucks.

Sucks for Vikings fans who I know every fan base

thinks they're tortured but boy when it comes to quarterbacks and injuries this

fan base has had it rough. Sucks for JJ I do think we would have seen him. I know that there was, we talked about

this a quarterback competition and perhaps Darnell would have started, but we would have seen J.J. at some point and boy, those early returns were exciting.

I don't think there's any way to spend losing a year of development as a positive,

but you can point to I think the opportunity he'll have to work on the mental aspect of things from the sidelines.

So coming out of the draft, I think that was sort of the question about Jay-J, is you ready for the NFL?

You know, it wasn't asked to do this a lot at Michigan.

There's not that many throws on tape and, you know, he's not going to get to work on that on the field, but off the

fields he will. I also will say, you know, this injury, I expect him to come back from entirely fine.

You know it's not a brutal injury for him. I think also the timing of it he'll be able to have a full off season next year I imagine so that also is going to be massive for him

as far as the journal stuff like I said're going to get to that in greater detail.

It is a put up or shut up time for him, for the Darnold Hive, for anyone who believes he's been held back by him circumstances because Lord knows this one is better than any he has been in before from the play caller to the skill players to even the past protection he's getting in Minnesota so we're going to get into that in great
