But right now, let's talk about health because West Streeting is all over the papers this morning.

He's talking to the junior doctors, he's trying to get that strike settled, he's promising more money for GPs.

He's also saying that he wants to get the people around 3 million of them who are not working because of some form of disability or illness

or other. He wants to get them all back to work. But we're going to talk to Dr. Dean Eggett,

GP and Doncaster, the CEO of Doncaster Local. We spoke to Dean just a few weeks ago and we had a very

interesting encounter in which I discovered from him that doctors, particularly GPs, can't really do

five days a week in their own surgeries. Have a look at this. So I work Monday, Wednesday,

Friday as a GP, on a Tuesday and a Thursday, organizing things for the NHS. Well, like what?

Organising things for the... So I organise systems, so it's about pathways of care, making

sure the patients are seeing the right place.

You're a doctor, though. You shouldn't be doing that, should you?

But I have unique insight into how the system works.

Well, you may have, but you surely be better off being a doctor for Tuesday and Thursday,

and then you cut down on all, you know, the waiting list, wouldn't you?

And that comes back to the original point. If I was to be a doctor five days a week, mentally, it's just not possible.

No?

You would burn out and you wouldn't be able to do the job.

Well, most people manage to do their job five days a week, though, don't they?

You don't, I mean, you don't sign up to do a job and say handle but I'm going to make some money doing something else for two other two of the other days doesn't sound right well actually as doctors that that is how it

works because it's incredibly mentally straining well maybe that's why there's a problem then

because you're not doing five days a week that surely is it's obvious isn't it no it's not possible
