And so in this episode, we are exploring the curiously copious amount of Scottish folklore around the subject of being buried alive.

Oh, how jolly.

I think next year's going to be ghosts only.

Just a wee content warning that this episode is pretty gross.

There's going to be lots of death and corpses, so listen with care.

So, Jenny, what do you know about being buried alive?

I know that it would suck.

And for this reason, it is a very common phobia.

And if we want to be official, which of course we do,

then the fear of being buried alive is called taffophobia.

I feel like this is a very sensible thing to be afraid of, right?

It speaks to such a primal fear.

I think most people understand that about a century after their death,

they will probably be forgotten, you know?
