morning wire afternoon update. The Supreme Court has invalidated a ban on bump stocks.

In a 6-3 ruling issued today, the High Court said that executive agencies did not adhere to

federal law when the ban was enacted.

Bump stocks are an accessory which when added to a gun enable it to fire

rapidly. Texas gun shop owner Michael Kargill challenged the rule arguing that the

Justice Department misclassified bump stocks as illegal machine guns.

It really goes back to freedom and it goes back to just the basics.

Something that my customers and my sub legally purchase, the government should not have that authority

an administrative agency ability to come back and ban something that Congress has not banned.

That's how our Constitution was written. We have different branches of government and an agency within the federal government does not have that type of power.

Pope Francis arrived in Italy today to attend the G7 summit. He is the first pontiff to address the meeting of world leaders and was invited by Italy's prime minister Georgia Maloney.
